SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The SDP is a program developed by our Director of Training, Thomas Shenton for U7 and U8 players. The SDP is an individual program for players who are interested in professional training and learning fundamental skills of the game as well as new skills. The aim of the SDP is to prepare players for the Academy level and to focus on player development. Sessions are held once a week during the Fall and Spring season - click here for more information.
The Academy program is a player development based program where players of all abilities are invited to sign up, once signed up players are required to attend practice twice a week under the instruction of a Gusher United professional trainer. Players will be developed through the Academy program according to the Academy Curriculum and will take part in the regular season held at B.Y.S.C. Academy players are split into teams according to their age and gender group, e.g. U9 Boys. Each academy team will be represented by a professional trainer who will attend each game to watch how a player is performing in a game situation as well as evaluating a player throughout their Academy training during the week - click here for more information.
Gusher United is the competitive arm of Beaumont Youth Soccer Club. In the Summer of 2012 BYSC and the former Spindletop Select Soccer Club merged creating a fantastic opportunity for all the players in the golden triangle area to play competitive soccer. Players can begin to join Gusher United at the age of 7 through our Academy program and finish up at the age of 18. We accommodate both boys and girls in our program with a strong belief that we can unite the entire golden triangle area through the sport of soccer.
At Gusher United we use professional trainers to teach the game of soccer to our youth. At Gusher United we are big believers that players need to be educated, although we call our staff trainers, we do our best to structure our sessions and game experiences into teaching opportunities rather than "train" our players.
